Rescued girl of the day found tucked away behind boxes in a local charity shop
I think she'll be much happier after a bath

I love to carry my dolls around with me to share my adventures (or to brighten up less adventuresome days!) but sometimes larger dolls, like Zinnia my Tangkou, can be a bit bulky to tote around on a normal day.
That's why I ordered a miniature avatar self for Zinnia, a mini me if you will, small enough to travel everywhere with me.
Meet 'Minnier Zinnia' Zinnia's tinier self

Recently, like lots of curly headed dolls, my Moof Cuna's hair had got a little dry and frizzy on the ends so we decided a spa treatment was the order of the day
The obligatory bathroom mirror shot...
I didn't know Moofs could be even MORE chilled ^_^

It is my relief to write that I have been left in relative peace the last few days.
The woman seems to have been preoccupied with something, but this has given me the space to observe some positive aspects to her character.
For instance, she introduced me to a new invention, the TV, and showed me a story called ‘The Waltons’.
I very much approve of the values of this ...Read Full Post »

I am beginning to find my bearings in this new land which I have learned is England.
I believed English people were known for their refinement, but from what I have observed thus far the woman, Holly, seems anything but proper!
She wished me to pose for photos in the most immodest and garish garments I ever laid eyes on. I tried to explain my reticence in exposing my shoulders and ankles to all and sundry, but she announced that it was me that was sadly lacking in 'cu...Read Full Post »

My history is an arduous one covering many miles. Created in China, one of many sisters, I believed myself destined for a life in Australia, but my route was diverted. I can only assume that our ship was commandeered by pirates because I somehow ended up in New Zealand. Even at this point in my journey I was yet to catch a glimpse of the light of day, confined as I was to what you ...Read Full Post »

Bliss and I wanted to try something a little different so we had a session of millinery (that's hat making to you and I).
As you can see the results look a little oversized, I think I did actually use the term 'All hat and no knickers' to Bliss, but she seemd unphased...
Do you think she looks a little film noir?

I posted on Facebook recently that my The Littles 'Daphne' doll (who I call 'Sheila') had sustained severe staining to her face recently from contact with the dark lining of my purse (I actually put her in the purse to keep her safe, how dumb am I!?)
I've ordered some doll stain remover from Retrodolls so we'll see if she can be fixed. In the meantime I decided to adopt another Littles daughter, commercially known as ...Read Full Post »

The Thinking Doll is pleased to introduce our new mascot, now to be seen adorning the website header.
Her name is 'Pansy' which, as well as being the name of a flower, also means 'thought' so seemed appropriate to represent 'The Thinking Doll'!
She is a Mattel Liddle Kiddle 'Tracy Trikediddle' from between 1968 and 1970, which makes her even older than I am (though she has aged better!)
She is very excited about her new job as dolly ambassador and looks forward to making man...Read Full Post »
